Professional fees and office information
Professional fees are $100 / hour
Professional frees are the same for in-person, over the phone and online counseling and psychotherapy.
Professional fees are for general individual counseling and all related professional services. They are set in accordance with the recommended fee range for social workers in private practice established by the Ontario Association of Social Workers. The clinical social work and psychotherapy services provided by a social worker are HST exempt. Fees for other specialized services may vary and this fee will be stated at the outset of the service and may be subject to HST.
As of September 26, 2012, counseling services provided by Registered Social Workers (RSW) can be claimed as a medical expense tax deduction when you file your income tax return. Fees are reviewed annually and are subject to change.
If you are having difficulties with payments, your counselor would appreciate a conversation about how this is impacting you. Fees for counseling and psychotherapy services may be covered by a third party or an insurance company. In the absence of insurance or compensation to cover the cost of services, a sliding scale will be offered based on gross annual income.
Counseling and psychotherapy services are meant to be accessible to you. Our physical office is located downtown Sudbury in a private home setting. There are no parking fees and it is wheelchair and walker accessible. To ensure your privacy, we encourage you to phone or book your appointment online with my secure Client Portal.
For new and existing clients, appointments will be booked mainly through the Online Practice Client Portal unless this method would prove to be unpractical to the client. Following this LINK will enable you to create your client account in the portal. This enables you to book services online and access a secure messaging service between you and your therapist. If required, discounts are applied at the time of billing.
Payment for in-person, over the phone and online counseling and psychotherapy, is due at the end of the session. Payments can be made by cash, cheque, credit, e-transfer, or third-party direct. An official receipt will be provided to you on paper or email. All clients are responsible for their own insurance and compensation claims unless organized through a third party or other signed service agreement.
There are no cancellation fees, and appointments can be canceled or rescheduled through the online Client Portal, or by notifying your therapist by email or phone. A 24h cancellation notice is greatly appreciated.
Office hours and communication
Office hours and therapist availability are subject to change at any time. To view your therapist’s up to date schedule and availability, please log in to your Client Portal. To communicate with your therapist about booking sessions you can email, phone, text or preferably use the secure messaging feature in the Client Portal.
Be advised that the ONLY appropriate use of text messaging is to cancel, re-schedule or advise your therapist that you are running late for your scheduled session. Your therapist may not respond to text messages and reserves up to 48h to respond to emails, voicemail messages, and online client portal messages.
